International

The university defines an international applicant as any non-U.S. citizen or any U.S. citizen whose high school degree, undergraduate degree or undergraduate coursework was earned outside the mainland United States.

Florida Tech recognizes international diplomas and credits taken at accredited secondary and post-secondary institutions once all appropriate official documentation and credentials are received and translated (where necessary). Students presenting diplomas beyond the high school level will have academic work evaluated by the Office of Online Learning with oversight by the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar will determine the exact number and nature of courses granted once the international evaluation is received. Florida Tech does not provide assistance in obtaining student visas or in translating documents.

Application Process

  1. Apply online: There is no application fee. Admissions requirements are listed on each program page and the application.

  2. Request official transcripts to be sent directly from your school(s). Official transcripts must come directly from the university or school and carry the official seal of the institution.

  3. Provide proof of English language proficiency if you are not a native English speaker (see Demonstrating English Language Proficiency below).

  4. U.S. citizens born outside the United States are required to submit proof of citizenship in the form of naturalization paperwork or a copy of their passport. Non-U.S. citizens residing in the U.S. may provide a copy of a U.S. Visa or permanent resident card. Florida Tech does not provide students with assistance in obtaining a visa.

  5. Official transcripts that are not in English will require an English translation.

Florida Tech’s admissions department will perform the credential evaluation once a student’s complete application file has been received, including determining equivalency of a student’s foreign credentials to U.S. degree programs. If warranted, the admissions department reserves the right to require an independent credential evaluation. If required, the applicant must submit a course-by-course certified credential evaluation from an approved agency.
